Archival Collections

The items in the collection include programs, photographs, and other memorabilia and ephemera related to the Flying High Circus.  (See box list.)

The Annie Gertrude Gilliam Scrapbook contains photographs, programs, and other items related to her years as a student at Florida State College for Women.

The Cinema Corporation of America Collection documents the history of this film distribution company, and American producer and director Cecil B. DeMille's role in its founding.

The Clara Mae Shepherd Scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, programs, and other ephemera related to her years as a student at Florida State College for Women.

Subject files documenting her professional interests and teaching activities; research notes for her Florida State University (FSU) Florida Government classes; reference materials reflecting her teaching and other activities; class materials (reading lists, curricula, student papers) for her FSU Florida Government course; manuscripts; correspondence to Daisy Parker Flory and her husband Claude Flory; photograph of Dr. Flory.

The Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. collection consists of materials, dated 1954 to 1964, including correspondence, bulletins, by-laws, flyers, scrapbooks, minutes of meetings, and other records of this organization. Also included within the collection are items related to the Tallahassee Business and Professional Women's Club and the International Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs.

This small collection documents the history of the Florida extension service program from its beginnings at the Florida State College for Women (FSCW) / Florida State University (FSU) School of Home Economics. The collection includes reference materials about other statewide agricultural extension service agencies and home economics, articles about Florida 4-H Clubs and the history of Florida home demonstration work, and publicity brochures about Florida home demonstration work published by the Florida State Home Demonstration Office at FSU. It is historically significant to researchers studying the cooperative extension movement in Florida and the United States and its relationship to higher education programs.

The Center for Participant Education Collection contains the activities files, administrative records, alternative viewpoint publications, broadsides, class catalogs, financial records, guest files, legal files, out-of-state free university catalogs, and photographs of one of the oldest student agencies at Florida State University. These materials document the history and operations of the organization, and the programs it has sponsored for the years 1970-2000.

Correspondence, memoranda, reports, photographs and photo album, slides, publicity, itineraries, programs, newsclippings, newsletters and other materials documenting the activities sponsored by the Florida State University (FSU) Office of Multicultural Affairs.

The FSU Senior Class Gift Files include articles, correspondence, lists, pamphlets, photographs, and press releases documenting the history of annual and 50th anniversary gifts given by its senior classes. There is much information about the 1994 Senior Class Gift of a clock for the University Center's Tower, the Westcott Brick Project, and the Louise Richardson Memorial Fountain Project, and a reproduction of a panoramic photo, with negatives, of the Class of 1912.
