Florida business letterhead collection, 1879-1896

This collection contains a selection of business letters that serve as examples of early business letterheads from various places in Florida. They are quite elaborate and contain pictures, maps and extensive advertising. They are from different towns and cities in Florida and date from 1879-1896. The letters are mostly to W.D. Bloxham and W.D. Barnes, both comptrollers for the state of Florida. Barnes was comptroller from 1881-1890 and Bloxham from 1890-1897.

The collection includes pins relating to Janet Wells' involvement in FSCW athletics, the Esterens (the honor society for the Evens), and the FSU Garnet Key Honor Society. The collection also features the L. Janet Wells Scrapbook, which contains photographs and ephemeral items and documents relating to Janet Wells' time as a student at Florida State College for Women. Lastly, two Odd caps and a trash bin labeled "FSCW" are part of the collection.

Oaths of Allegience to the Confederate States of America

Five photostat copies of Oaths of Allegiance to the Confederate States of America. They were signed respectively by Converse P. Devereau (born Maine, document certified Putnam County, Florida), Iasich Bullock (born England, document certified Putname County, Florida), Oscar F.A. Blood (born New York, document certified Putnam County, Florida), Franklin Hadlock (born Vermont, document certified Putnam County, Florida), and Charles P. Haines (born New Hampshire, document certified Putnam County, Florida). All of the Oaths are identicial expect for the names. The only major difference is with Bullock's oath as he was a British subject, not an American citizen when he signed the oath.
